#229: 11/2/12 - 12/2/12 A Hens Night
Saturday was Katie’s hens do, but since we had just gotten Zoey and Rob was at Simons stag do, I couldn’t leave her home alone just yet, so I ended up missing the burlesque lesson - but it’s ok, Katie ended up showing us how it was done after dinner ;)
Dinner and games were held at her mums and I had a great night catching up with a few people as well as some old radiography...

The week was a drag as we… no, wait, I, waited to bring home our new puppy, which at this stage was not Zoey, but instead a toss up between Eden (after Mt Eden Dubstep…. yes, blame the boys) and Riley; a name that had a nice ring to it.
I joined Rob halfway through the week in Tauranga as he was there for work and enjoyed the beautiful weather they always seem to have. I also indulged...

We did a healthy week of meals...

#227: 4/2/12 - 6/2/12 So Much To Be Happy For
This was a really great long weekend. We started off with a spontaneous trip to Omaha and spent a good portion of the afternoon ‘sunbathing’ in the overcast weather (and typically it was all blue skies and sun as soon as we left). Omaha is one of my favourite beaches , it’s a long enough drive away so that you feel like you’re on ‘vacation’ but not too far away...

#226: 28/1/12 - 30/1/12 The Fastest Long Weekend
It started off well with the use of our flatmates rotisserie BBQ, he decided we should kick it off with a spit roast and the meat of choice was my favourite; pork! Can you see all the yummy crackling?
We decided to invite a few friends over since there was plenty to go around and ended up making a night of it :)
Then the Saturday, Rob and I headed to V4 and Rotary show at the ASB showgrounds...

Two of last weeks recipes
Both of which in my books are reasonably healthy. You see, I like a dinner with carbs and if the main part of the meal is carbs, then I’ll try to incorporate more veggies than the recipe states. So the first recipe isn’t your conventional mac and cheese but I think it tastes so much better anyway :)
Mac and Cheese, slightly adapted from here.
What you need:
300g macaroni or other...

#222: 1/1/12 The move begins... and the welcoming...
The move began… 3-4 hours after waking up. We dreaded it. I think I dreaded it more though, I suggested everything under the sun that we could do instead of packing. Thank goodness Rob agreed to at least having breakfast at Sierra in Greenlane beforehand.
We had aimed to be in the new place by 3rd Jan so you could imagine the stress of having to pack, bubble-wrap, box, label, lift, shift...

So, its been a wee while since I’ve posted about the happenings of life. The last month and a bit have been hectic to say the least. I’m going to blame the lack of blogging on moving house (even though it really only took two solid weeks to pack, move and get most things sorted). Whoever said moving house was one of the most stressful things was not lying by the way, so we were glad to...

#220: 24/11/11 Magic Fingers - A Tip :P
No idea what is going on with my bowling skills but I failed miserably today. Went bowling with my mans family sans man (he was sick) and the best I could do was one spare :( Even Ryan who is 7 did better than me (mind you he had the gutters up :P).
I started to lose all hope until I remembered a little ‘trick’ Rob taught me the very first time we went bowling together, he told me to...

#217: 10/11/11 My Beautiful Bestie Hits 22 :-)
It started off with a text message “Hey all :) …just wanted to invite you to come and have some food tomorrow night in town for my birthday, just a chilled dinner…” etc.
Little did I know a chilled dinner was actually a big dinner with 4 tables joined together for 123556567 people. This girl is loved by many and I was very happy to be celebrating yet another birthday with...

Just a casual one to Momo Tea for some bubble tea and some lunch;
I had this Malaysian fried rice dice which wasn’t very nice at all - I am yet to find a Malaysian dish I like, anyone have any suggestions?
After lunch we headed home to relax before heading out again for more food with the other guys at Goode Brothers. Below was my meal of basically a Caprese salad on a pizza, very...

Did you ever play the MASH game as a kid? →
I remember using up so many pages out of my books doing these at sleepovers when I was younger and being either incredibly happy or just slightly disappointed about the outcome. Click on the link to find out who you’ll ‘end up with’, what you’ll drive and where you’ll live in the future ;)

watched a video on how to make this amazing light afternoon snack not too long ago but can’t find it - it wasn’t on youtube, if anyone knows of it, please let me know! One of my favourite salads slightly modified due to lack of ingredients. Asparagus salad drizzled with olive oil, lemon juice, subbed roasted pine nuts with crushed peanuts and Parmesan with grated Colby.

#212: 4/10/11 - 16/10/11 Catch Up
I have all these draft entries lined up ready to start elaborating on when I have the spare time but for some reason have changed my mind every time I check my drafts folder as there are too many, so to make things easier for me and to be up to date with my recent outings, here are 13 days in ‘brief’; between Tuesday 4th October and Sunday 16th October I…

real women
Excuse me while I throw this down, I’m old and cranky and tired of hearing the idiocy repeated by people who ought to know better.
Real women do not have curves. Real women do not look like just one thing.
Real women have curves, and not. They are tall, and not. They are brown-skinned, and olive-skinned, and not. They have small breasts, and big ones, and no breasts whatsoever.

#211: 1/10/11 Butterfly Creek
I had never been to Butterfly Creek before, guess that wasn’t on the priorities list of places to go as a child. So this particular Saturday Rob and I headed out and unleashed the kids at heart.
This place is incredible. There was a butterfly house, a crocodile encounter, a room dedicated to creepy crawlies (which gave you the heeby jeebies I will add), an aquarium, a farm and even a kiddy...

Flokati Rug Alternative
Temporarily I have an on-the-side job where I get to play with the sweetest puppies and help look after them. The house they reside is beautiful. The owners of the place have impeccable taste and in their lounge is this beautiful, bright red flokati rug - at least I’m pretty sure it is. The way it brought the room together in this modernised yet homely way definitely confirmed my love and...
