This was a really great long weekend. We started off with a spontaneous trip to Omaha and spent a good portion of the afternoon ‘sunbathing’ in the overcast weather (and typically it was all blue skies and sun as soon as we left). Omaha is one of my favourite beaches , it’s a long enough drive away so that you feel like you’re on ‘vacation’ but not too far away that you get sick of the drive.

After lounging at the beach we headed off to The Matakana House for something to nibble on before eating at my favourite Matakana destination; Blue. They have the most amazing organic ice cream, with my favourite being vanilla chip. Rob had a white chocolate and raspberry which he claims was better than mine but I disagree :P (as much as I love white choc and raspberry) so try vanilla chip if you ever happen to be there.

On Sunday morning we (I) decided that we should head out to check out the Clevedon Village Markets. The atmosphere here is so relaxed, there were lots of kiddies running around, picnics set up amongst friends and so many cute doggy’s everywhere! We sat on some hay bales (cute huh) for some breakfast after buying from cupcake stalls, cheese stalls and eying out veggie and fresh salmon stalls.

Next up was to view some toy poodle cross puppies. This is a of the one we decided to pick up next Friday :-D  Isn’t she the most adorable wee thing/fluff ball in the world?!

That night we headed off to the Lantern Festival at Albert Park with Chase, Mia, their daughter Ella and some of their other friends. The food was delicious, the entertainment - entertaining (karaoke is always fun) and the lanterns forever beautiful.

Monday was a nothing day, but Monday was a day where we found out some fantastic news - Rob passed his plumbing exam! I am so happy and proud of him. The year so far just keeps getting better and better :)
